Welcome to the official website of Reigate Area Conservation Volunteers (RACV). RACV is an independent voluntary group, dedicated to undertaking practical nature conservation tasks around the Reigate Area. The group was formed in 1985, by a group of enthusiastic and like-minded local people, who wanted to do something positive for their local environment. We run practical tasks most Sundays, with monthly midweek tasks. See our task programme for current events and our sites section for the main sites we work on. We are affiliated to the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers (BTCV), but are independently run by a Committee elected at the AGM.

OUR AIMS & OBJECTIVES
-To encourage and involve people to care for their local environment.
-To undertake and promote practical management tasks which conserve and improve the character and wildlife value of the local environment.
-To promote and develop a greater understanding of, and need for, wildlife conservation.
-To maintain and promote traditional countryside skills and practises.

Volunteers of all ages & backgrounds are welcome to join in and no prior experience is needed. Each task is lead by a skilled leader, and we provide training on what to do.
